Dollars to Donuts

The definition for the slang word 'Dollars to Donuts" is an abbreviated form of "I'd bet you dollars to donuts". In theory, this is a good bet. (In practice, donuts can usually be purchased for less than a dollar each.).

This phrase is used to describe the condition of how good a bet is. Dollars to Donuts, means a good bet.
It is neither adverb, verb. noun or adjective but an interjection meaning English part of speech consisting of exclamatory words such as oh, alas, and ouch.

Examples of Dollars to Donuts:

1.Man 1:Dollars to Donuts the Seahwaks will lose this season.
Man 2: How much you wanna bet?

2. Dollars to Donuts the cheetah can run faster than the turtle.
To pronounce the word correctly you use the word we all know and love, Dollars (meaning money) and another word we all love more, Donuts.

I feel this is a slang word that was used more in the old days. I could imagine "I love Lucy" or some old Western TV show using this word with guys smoking, and playing poker. Or in the horse tracks where people are betting on the long shots and underdogs. I am skeptical as to believe many people use this word in the "now" centry. In a study 30 people have voted the usage on this word. 5 out of 30 are using it. 4 out of 30 have never used it. However, a whopping 21 out of 30 have never even heard the word. Thus, the word in uncommonly used.

My slang word shows much enthusiasm as to how you feel about getting "lucky" meaning betting on poker. Or at the casino.

I would give this word a 4 out of 5 stars. Since the word is so unique and original I wanted to give it credit for these certain qualifications and criteria. However, the fact no one uses it makes it lack one star. I figure if a lot of people use the same word, and it is well known, it must be a good word. However, this word is barely even known throughout USA. Thus, it should not have 5 out of 5 stars.

Zealous

ZEALOUS
The definition of "zealous" is filled with or inspired by intense enthusiasm, also could be known as, full of.
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/zealous
Can be known in almost every form adjective, adverb, noun, but cannot be used as a verb.
May possible be use in past tense if used correctly.
Some example sentences of "zealous" can be.....
1. " I was so zealous to go see my friends on Saturday."
2. " Chris was so zealous to ask me to homecoming, I couldn't say no."
To pronounce the word correctly it is sounded out like this [zel-uh s].
I would probably use this word when I'm with older people like adults, a job interview would be good because you can show that you are excited and happy to get a job at the place.
"My word is a lot like great or eager, but it’s different in that it great can also be used to explain something large and intense."
My word is pretty much the exact opposite if unenthusiastic because unenthusiastic is so emotionless and un- alive while zealous is upbeat and lively.
Personally I would give zealous a hard high-five out of a high-five, because it explains so much about being happy and caring about stuff in people's lives.

Here's something appropriate.

"this is so uncanny."
You would pronounce the word like this {[uhn-kan-ee]}.

My word is alot like astonishing , but it is different in that you would use the word uncanny is more stange and unbeleiveable times that you would with astonishing.
